Organised by Nursing Standard, the UK's best selling nursing journal, The Nurse Awards are the ultimate award to highlight and celebrate excellence in nursing. Held annually, the awards are a unique opportunity to identify exceptional nursing professionals who demonstrate clinical excellence and innovation and, who through their initiatives and nursing practice, improve the quality of patient care.
The category winners were announced at an inspirational ceremony hosted by TV presenter, broadcaster and journalist Fiona Phillips on Tuesday 12th March at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
The evening was attended by over 300 people including the finalists, sponsors and key figures from the nursing and healthcare profession.
Matthew Hodson, nurse consultant from Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust won the overall award, Nurse of the Year 2013.
