About the Nursing Standard Patient's Choice Award
Last year the Patient's Choice Award was renamed as the Claire Rayner Patient's Choice Award in recognition of Claire Rayner's work and passion for the nursing profession.
This special award enables members of the public to nominate a nurse* who they feel has made a real difference in either their health care or that of a loved one. The closing date for nominations is Friday 16 December.
Entries will be shortlisted by the Editor-in-Chief of Nursing Standard, the Managing Director of RCN Publishing and the Chief Executive of the Patient's Association. The finalists will be announced through all relevant media channels and the general public will be invited to vote for the nurse that they think is the most deserving of the award.
Nominators of finalists will be notified if their nurse has been shortlisted for the second stage of judging.
The winner of the Claire Rayner Patient's Choice Award 2012 will be announced at the prestigious Nursing Standard Nurse Awards 2012 awards ceremony which will be held at the Hilton on Park Lane, London on Thursday 22 March 2012.
* Includes health visitors and midwives registered to practice in the UK and healthcare assistants.
